This handle, Reg. # 21, was excavated by Rev. R. Alan Russel under the supervision of Prof. Wilbur Fields at Khirbet Nisya during the 1985 season of excavations directed by David Livingston.  Its locus was Field P, Area 41 in shallow soil void of any other significant artifact, next to the large mikveh of Area 39.  For more information about this site & a picture of the mikveh, please visit the Ancient Days website.

Photos courtesy of "Khirbet Nisya:  The Search for Biblical Ai, 1979-2002" by David Livingston, which mistakenly lists this handle as a "Bird Seat On Handle" found in 1987.
