RAEL #273 found on the surface of Lachish during excavations conducted in the 1930s (stored at the British Museum as "BM 132072" & "BM 1956-04-16, 14"):

The color photo above was provided to this website courtesy of Jonathan Tubb (Assistant Keeper, Department of the Ancient Near East [Ancient Levant]) at The British Museum.  A cropped version appears in "The Lion Encyclopedia of the Bible" by Pat Alexander & Alan Millard.  It was originally published as the black & white photo below using slightly alternate lighting in the following publications:
  • "L'Epigrafia Ebraica Antica 1935-1950" by Sabatino Moscati
  • "Lachish III (Tel ed-Duweir):  The Iron Age (Plates)" by Olga Tufnell
  • PEQ 7-1941 (Plate #7-15) published by The Palestine Exploration Fund

Note that on p. 98 of PEQ vol. 73 (7-1941), Diringer mentioned:  "On one handle, there is above the stamp to the right the impress of two concentric circles with a point in the middle: (Plate VI, fig. 15) this object, which is not visible in the photograph is below the emblem to the right."  His reference to Plate VI rather than VII is an obvious typo (Plate VI shows an S4L but his comments were in the "M M Sh T" section.
